Welcome to Telling Stories. I’m your host, Jason Hobbs.
Now, I’m going to go ahead and kick off the inaugural episode, which is entitled, “Profit or education for your business?”
Which one can you focus on?
Now, I’m gonna go ahead and take a celebrity endorsement from a third party that will probably dilute the Copyblogger Media brand.
However, I’m gonna still do it because I care about what you think, not what everybody else thinks.
So this is Tony Clark from Episode 13 of the Mainframe. Which is on the Rainmaker Platform and its on Rainmaker.FM, the podcast network.
Let me go ahead and throw it over to Tony real quick and he’s gonna tell us, how does Copyblogger focus? What do they focus on? What is the key mission?
It’s really about educating your buyer.
And when we talk about funnels, thats what were talking about.
Because if you take specific steps to get somebody to understand, you’ll.
When you flip it and you have them take specific steps to buy or to sign up.
They know why they’re doing it.
They know the purpose.
And thats what this whole idea of a content conveyor belt. Because you’re moving them along farther and farther. It may start out with an opt in. Or a free product. Or low cost product and you move them along til you really get them engaged as part of your, your buying community.
I thought that Tony did a fantastic job of very succinctly explaining the process. Like, the entirety of the process. Of how Copyblogger Media went from one person to eight figures over the course of however many years its been.
Well, what’s the process?
Well, its a process of educating customers. They, everyone starts out as a stranger.
You don’t know them. They don’t know you. Or your business. Or your solution or however you’re going to quantify yourself.
They’re not aware of you.
You attract them. Give them a reason to be aware. To know that you exist.
And they’re going to get enough free content, you know. Through your podcast, through your blog posts. Whatever.
But they’re gonna get enough free to content to say, “Hey. I want to introduce myself and get to know this person better.”
Thats when they start down the content conveyor belt. Which is really just an education path.
You’re educating them on, you’re either educating them further into the relationship with you.
Or you’re educating them out the door to find their actual solution.
This is episode 1. Thats five zeros and then a one. Of Telling Stories. Which is my new podcast. If you want to call it that.
But I’m trying to focus on one thing. Telling you a story, that actually educates and entertains.
Now, whether or not I’m going to “pull that off”, I can’t say. Cause all I can do is, not, give you a, anything other than me.
And that is, you know, under pressure. A hundred and sixty thousand dollars in debt. It’s ummm, I fight depression. I’ve been diagnosed with both Depression and ADHD.
I don’t currently have the capacity to uhhh, take care of stuff like I need to take care of it. But that is, you know, part of the pressure.
You want to know the biggest pressure?
I put my name, Jason Hobbs, LLC on my business.
And the reason was so that it would serve as my humble slice of my grandparents legacy.
They were both (both sets of Grandparents) hugely important in my life.
And my Mom’s retirement.
She owns forty percent of Jason Hobbs, LLC.
And trust me she paid.
Over the, especially over the last seven years.
But most important it’s my future.
It’s my life’s work.
It’s what I have dedicated the past seven years to.
I hope you’ll come along.
And maybe tell me some stories about, your business.
And, your successes.
I’ll see you next time. Where we’re going to decide on the best way to use Rainmaker.
Which is really, just to set it up as your content conveyor belt.
Just like Copyblogger Media does for all their, various, and sundry, shows, and brands, and products, and courses, etc.
So, have a great one.
I’ll talk to you next time.
