New update today based on Brian Clark’s post on Copyblogger.
I asked questions in the comments but most of my questions were referred back to Brian Clark’s letter, like I hadn’t already read it.
Seems the pricing setup will be current customers will stay at their same price or have the option to pay more for bundled services from the new entity.
They are still working on the specifics, more to come as I learn and understand more.
At approximately 11:44AM Eastern time today (May 17, 2017), Brian Clark sent this email to Rainmaker Platform customers.
This post is my attempt to answer that question for my business which is built solely upon my ability to resell Rainmaker Platform.
I will update it as I learn more but to begin with, I wanted to boil down the basics of the changes, aka what applies to you specifically.
How will it work from here compared to how its been for you so far?
Who are they? See if you can figure it out. I visited their site but not sure who the people are behind it at all.
What do they do?
We believe that YOUR needs dictate which marketing tools to use. Sure, we’ll build a mobile app, produce a :60 TV ad or hire a sky writer but ONLY if it achieves your goals. We use the “WHY” to communicate define the “HOW” to communicate. In today’s environment, most clients turn to Nimble for:
- Lead Generation and Engagement
- Award-winning Social Media
- Search Visibility and Content Marketing
- Data-driven Advertising
So the coming few months are VERY interesting to me. My targeted clientele is, I believe, below the budget of the upstream clients Rainmaker Platform will be focusing on.
My mission for more than ten year now, to the exclusion of all else, is to help spread abundance.
Focusing on getting really small business owners and non-profit directors GOING online.
Teaching to fish. And helping them grow their business through real traction online.
As you can see, I’m optimistic and remain hopeful this pivot will be a boon to my little one person media company.
My goal is for my little LLC to become a 100 person media company within the coming decade.
This could be yuuuge. 😀
I try to simplify the message and what it means to you
Here are the first three groups of Rainmaker Platform customers and my distilled message.
This will change as I learn more. We heard mere hours ago.
Person 1 – Current RMP DIY Customer
You own your own business. You use Rainmaker Platform for part or all of your online marketing platform.
- No change to price
- Option to add new sites in the future through your RM portal at same pricing
Person 2 – Rainmaker Reseller
The reseller program will continue (confirmed 3:56PM via email).
So, it COULD be a good thing for Rainmaker platform resellers.
Especially if allowed to resell the new services offering etc (per the same email, this is undecided currently TBD in the “next several months”).
Person 3 – Upstream Customers (You and I once we reach a bunch of our goals)
Lots of new options and added ability to tap into the synergy of the parts of the team you get your services and platform from.
Person 4 – Me and my business
Same pricing assuming the reseller program continues. (Confirmed via response to reseller support form)
Opportunity to offer services as an upsell to clients is VERY intriguing.
But I believe they are still going upstream from the non-digital native business owners and non-profit directors with organizations of between one and ten-ish employees. I’m feeling more strongly this the more I hear.
I’ve reached out to Brian Clark to discuss (not holding breath).
I was buoyed by Chris Lema’s 2min video of his thoughts on Brian Clark’s letter to us all. I’ve long wished that as my business grew and I actually got to do any scaling, that I would (1) have access to paying for help from the core team behind Rainmaker Platform and (2) have the opportunity to pay for enhancements to the platform.
Again these scenarios do not apply to me today but I’m increasingly confident they will.
PS If you aren’t already a member of Andy Traub’s FB Group (Unofficial) for Rainmaker Platform Users. Just request access if you want in.
